IONE STRINDEN, 12, IS VICTIM OF HEART AILMENT

Funeral To BE Held Here Friday Afternoon

It is this week the sad duty of the Bulletin to chronicle the death of a young girl of this village. Ione Strinden, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. I. Strinden, died at the Mercy Hospital in Valley City at 12:30 o’clock on Tuesday, April 12, from enlargement of the heart.

Ione had been ailing for the past month. She was first taken ill with influenza, and was on the road to recovery when an infection in her appendix made an emergency operation necessary. While in a weakened condition on account of her sickness and the operation, heart complications and extreme enlargement of the that vital organ set in which proved to be too great a battle for the brave little lass to win.

Funeral services will be held at the First Lutheran Church of Litchville at two o’cclock on Good Friday, with the Rev. O. O. Lovaas as the officiating minister. Dennis Kelley, Clayton Olafson, Calvin Olafson, Clarence Anderson, Gordon Haack and Eldred Eggen are to serve as pall bearers, and the remains will be laid at rest in the Oakhill cemetery near Kathryn.

Ione was born in this village on October 1, 1925, and has lived here all her life. One of the leaders in her class, she was in the seventh grade when death came to claim her. Alert, intelligent and always a perfect little lady, she was loved by all who knew her, young and old alike.

Surviving besides her parents, are one sister, Marcelle, and five brothers, namely, Keith, Alfred, Theron, Dean and Earl.

The heartfelt sympathy of all of the community goes out to the grief-stricken family.
