Paul Sterling Penrod

1919 ~ 2011

Paul Sterling Penrod, 91, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather and friend died peacefully at home in the early morning hours of August 13, 2011.

Born in Provo, Utah to Wilford and Hattie Fausett Penrod on December 7, 1919.

Paul married his sweetheart Delight Holt on November 10, 1938. They enjoyed an amazing 72 years together!

Paul proudly served in WWII on a Navy LST in the South Pacific. Following the war, he started the Penrod Garage. Paul was known as a fair businessman often accepting trade-work for mechanic work. This service gained him many lifelong friends.

Paul was a member of the LDS church. He was Bishop of the Grandview 1st Ward gaining the love and admiration of many.

Paul loved making homemade bread and had a real talent for making beautiful quilts, making an astounding 74!

Paul is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Delight Holt Penrod, his son and daughter-in-law, Paul Steven and Pauline Young Penrod. His grandchildren, Paul Cyrus Penrod (Lorie), Shareen Golish (Rick), and William Clete Penrod (Jenny), sister Mamie Penrod Johnson and brother Grant Penrod (Fern), 14 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 9 siblings, Keller, Frank, Don, Ned, Garn, Flava, Merline, Velma, and Bernice, and three infant sons.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at the Grandview 1st Ward Chapel, 1555 North 1350 West, Provo.

Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street, Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 and at the church Wednesday morning from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to services.

Interment, East Lawn Memorial Hills.
