PEARLINE HOXWORTH TANNER. On August 11, 2011 Mrs. Pearline Hoxworth Tanner went to her heavenly home and to her family who had gone before her. In this life she leaves her daughters, Gail Rose and Crystal Tanner, granddaughters Melody Rose and Rio Tanner, and grandson, Taylor Tanner. This journey was preceded by her son, William Blake "Tiger" Tanner, Jr.; her sisters, Wanda Hinze of Marine, IL and Jeanette DuBois of Arnold, MO. As she wished, she departed this life at her home after a short illness with her daughter Gail and granddaughter Melody at her side. Mrs. Pearline Tanner was the former wife of William B. Tanner, Sr. She and "Billy", their children, and a dream of a better life, came to Memphis in the early ‘60's from Portagville, MO. Her loyalty to family and willingness to sacrifice made it possible for William to begin a business and provide a life for their family they never imagined! She never forgot the values instilled by her parents and growing up working in the cotton fields with her family. She was known for her gracious loving kindness and her extraordinary beauty. She loved ballroom dancing, flowers and old movies. Her life was dedicated to her family. As she lived her life, she leaves us the legacy of undying love, unconditional devotion and amazing gratitude. The spirit of her tremendous capacity to love will remain forever with our family. Her time has now come to rest! Please join us as we honor her life at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 17. The viewing will begin at 1 p.m. with service to follow at 2:30 p.m. Memorial Park Funeral Home, "Behind the stone wall", 901-767-8930. Condolences may be offered at www.MemorialParkOnline.com
