Eula E. "Tootsie" Perkins, 87, formerly of 900 Locust, died at 2:25 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 25, 2009) in Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Palmyra, Missouri.

Eula was born May 3, 1921 in Elmer, Missouri, a daughter of Joseph and Leota Wooden Arment.

She married Walter H. Perkins on Sept. 19, 1938, in Memphis, Mo. He died Aug. 20, 1991.

Eula was a retired cook from Quincy Senior High School and Quinsippi Nursing Home. She was a homemaker who dedicated her life to her family and a devoted grandma who enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting and crafts and caring for her friends and neighbors. She was of the Christian faith.

She is survived by a son, Larry Perkins and his wife, Louise, of High Point, N.C.; a daughter, Judith McPhail of Quincy; four grandchildren, Craig Perkins and his wife, Kris, of Arlington Heights, Kent Perkins of Yuma, Ariz., Brian Perkins and his wife, Margie, of Rocky Mount, N.C., and Brenda Edwards of Quincy; five great-grandchildren, Michael Perkins, Kyle Perkins, Andrew Perkins, Dustin Edwards and Katelynn Edwards; two stepgrandsons, Eldred McPhail and Ross McPhail; one brother, Robert W. Arment and wife, Betty, of Bonne Terre, Mo.; a sister, Joann Hongsermeier of Richview; a sister-in-law, Martha Arment of Moberly, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her husband, Walter, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Hap Arment and Homer Arment; and two sisters, Frankie Edland and Wilma Ryburn.

SERVICES: 2 p.m. Saturday in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home. Interment will be in Quincy Memorial Park. VISITATION: 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
