Kate was born July 9th, 1924 in East St. Cloud to Charles and Mary (Ganzer) Roemer. She graduated from Cathedral High School in 1942. She married Dan Barthelemy on February 8th, 1944 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Kate and her husband Dan owned and operated Dan's Auto Service in St. Cloud for more than 44 years. She was a charter member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and a member of the Christian Women.
Kate will always be remembered for her homemade bread, hospitality at the garage, and playing Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus with Dan. She enjoyed reading, sewing, fishing with her grandkids, and not to forget, "winning" at cards. The most important to Kate's "Granny's" life was loving her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She lived her faith throughout her life.
Survivors include her daughters, Mary Kay Keeville (Don) Waite Park, Patty Brannan (Tim) St. Joseph, Carol Skillingstad (Ken) St. Cloud, Susie Hoffman (Roger) St. Cloud, Cathy Orth (Tom) St. Augusta, Jane Teders (Brian) Rockford, Illinois, Joanie Heitzman (Buck Bergstraser) Rice, Julie Dockendorf (Dan) St. Wendel, Laura Schug (Joe) St. Cloud, 27 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, sisters, Pat Gandolfo, New Hope and Joan Buechler, Rochester.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dan, January 6th, 1993, four sons, John, Terry, William, and Rick, brothers, Donald, Charles, and Leroy Roemer, brother in laws, Tony Gandolfo and Fritz Buechler, son-in-law John Heitzman, and 3 grandchildren.
