1899, May 30, Hilma was born in Sweden. Charles was 23 years older than Hilma.

After Charles established himself as a contractor in Bellingham he went back to Sweden and brought Hilma from Varmland, Sweden to become his wife. This was her immigration from Sweden.
Hilma married Charles Johnson.

They resided in Bellingham, Washington where Lawrence Egon Johnson was born in 1924. Charles was well established during the Great Depression as other families struggled to survive the lean times. The Johnson family resided at 1702 Grant street with the assistance of their nanny Auntie Ericcson.
In 1926, June 15. Carl was born.

In 1950, on January 23, in Mount Vernon in Skagit County, Hilma married Joseph O. Braithwaite of Everson.

A resident of B'ham for the past 54 years, she was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church.

BRAITHWAITE, Hilma M., age 79 of 523 W. Indiana St., passed away at home Fri., Oct. 6, 1978.

Surviving are her husband, Joseph at home;
2 sons, Lawrence E. Johnson of Kirkland,
Carl Erling Johnson of Seattle;
a brother, Karl Olsson in Sweden;
also 7 grandchildren.
Several great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held in the Faith Lutheran Church Tues. Oct. 10th at 2 pm with Pastor Keith Swenson officiating, assisted by Pastor Evald E. Olsenius. Burial will follow in Greenacres Memorial Park under the direction of Veroske Jerns Funeral Chapel.
