Mrs. Leonard Runn
Mrs. Leonard Runn, 64, longtime Stratford resident, died Wednesday evening at the Boone County hospital. She had been in ill health the past 10 years.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Stratford Lutheran church with the Rev. Calvin Rossman officiating and with burial in the Oakwood Cemetery at Stratford. The body will lie in state at the Foster Funeral Home until 9 a.m. Saturday when it will be taken to the church.
Leona Bass, daughter of Douglas and Rose Fyock Bass, was born Sept. 25, 1913 at Boone County, where she was reared and educated.
She was united in marriage Sept. 16, 1933, to Leonard Runn, and they made their home on a farm south of Stratford. Mrs. Runn was employed at the Boone County Hospital and later was employed at the Hamilton County Hospital for four years. She owned and operated the Runn Custodial Home in Stratford for many years, retiring in 1973, due to ill health.
She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Orene Martin, Stratford, and Mrs. Evelyn Lundberg of Boone; four grandsons; one brother and two sisters, Floyd Bass, Pilot Mound, Mrs. Dorothy Burkey, Eldon, Mo., and Mrs. Paul (Irene) Stolte, Stratford, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, her parents, four brothers and three sisters.
She was a member of the Stratford Lutheran Church.
