Russel Bergeson
Estherville – Services for Russel Leo Bergeson, Sr., 66, will be held Saturday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Estherville, with Pastor Paul Wiegman officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. He died Sunday, Feb. 13, 1983 in the Chariton Care Facility, Chariton, Iowa.

Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home from 7-9 p.m. Friday. Military graveside rites will be observed by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post.

Bergeson was born April 7, 1916 in Emmet County, the son of E.S. and Bertha (Finnestad) Bergeson and attended rural Emmet County schools. On Jan. 1, 1945 he was united in marriage to Elma Davis in Algona. He lived most of his life in Emmet County and was employed as a carpenter; he worked for John Morrell Co. 16 years. Bergeson was a veteran of World War Two and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include his wife, Elma, Estherville; seven daughters and three sons: Mrs. JoAnn Knapp, Mrs. Lorene Roberts, Calif., Jerry Bergeson, Portland, Ore., Mrs. Harlow (Patricia) Thompson, Jackson, Minn., Mrs. David (Beverly) Dalen, Windom, Minn., Rose Marie Bergeson, Larry Bergeson, Mrs. Mark (Sandra) Triggs, Russel Bergeson Jr., Mrs. James (Cheryl) Bush all of Estherville; two sisters and four brothers: Curtis and Truman Bergeson, Mrs. Russ (Bernice) Clauson all of Vancouver, Wash., Mrs. Melvin (Evelyn) Norland, Emmetsburg, Mrs. Fred (Gladys) Johannesen, Bancroft, Mrs. Elmer (Nina) Randa, Cylinder; 30 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
