Suzane Margaret Arnst, aged 86, widow of Henry Jacob Arnst, a pioneer farmer of the county, passed away quietly in her sleep at 4;45 a.m. Tuesday morning Dec. 11, at the home of her son, J. J. Arnst of Ritzville.

Mrs. Arnst was born in Russia on April 30, 1842, the daughter of John and Katherine Stumpf. In 1899 she came to Nebraska from Russia, where she resided until 1901, when she moved with her husband to Ritzville. She spent eight years of this time in the country on the Arnst homestead and the remainder of her life in Ritzville. In 1920 Mr. Arnst died, and since that time she made her home with her son, J. J. Arnst of Ritzville.

Five sons survive: Henry, Phillip, Jacob, Michael and John Arnst. A sister, Mrs. Henry Kinzel lives in this city. Two daughters in Russia also survive the deceased. Besides sons, and daughters and a sister, Mrs. Arnst leaves 30 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

The body is at the M. F. Haight mortuary parlors. Funeral service will be held from the Emanuel Lutheran church, Ritzville, at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14,. Rev. E. A Rehn will officiate. Interment will be in the Lutheran cemetery.
