Elizabeth "Lib" (Wright) Ormand, 79, of Columbus, North Carolina, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2009.
She was the daughter of the late John Cairns Wright and Louise (Adams) Wright and wife of Robert E. Ormand.
She was a member of Columbus Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and assisted in Children's Church and Vacation Bible School. She was a retired school teacher, having taught 34 years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Bobby Ormand and wife Janet of Columbus; two daughters, Lou Odel and husband Bruce of Mill Spring, NC, and Laura A. Ormand of Columbus; a brother, Arnold "Buddy" Wright of Louisburg, NC; three grandchildren, John Odel and wife Tonya, Kayla Edwards and husband Eli, and Nikki Ormand; and two great-grandchildren, Gracie Edwards and James Odel.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Susan Ormand.
The family received friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Petty Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, September 10, 2009 at Columbus Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Robert Capps and Rev. Robert Orr, Jr.
Burial was in Polk Memorial Gardens.
Memorials were made to Hoyt D. and Tyler McEntire Scholarship Fund, Tryon, North Carolina.
