Clinton M. Park, a well-known resident of Mapleton, died at 9 o'clock last evening, August 21, 1952, at the home of his son, Boyd Park, at Mill Creek. He had been ill since February.

He was born on October 20, 1871 in Hares Valley, the son of William and Rachel (Long) Park. On January 2, 1894, he was united in marriage to the former Mary Ellen Stroup by the Rev. Mr. Stevens of the Meadow Gap Methodist Church.

The couple made their first home at Maddensville where he was engaged in farming. Later they moved to Mill Creek and Mr. Park was employed for 42 years as a blacksmith until his retirement in 1940. For many years, the Park family resided in Mapleton.

On January 2, 1952, Mr. & Mrs. Park celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary.

The deceased was a member of the Mapleton Presbyterian Church and belonged to the Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge No. 223, of Huntingdon.

Surviving are his wife and the following children: Mrs. E. C. Bell, Virl Park, and Ralph Park, all of Mapleton; Mrs. Edward Morris, Huntingdon, and Boyd Park, Mill Creek; ten grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren also survive. Mr. Park was the last surviving member of a family of 14 children.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Clark Funeral Home in Mount Union with the Rev. D.I. Schaeffer and the Rev. Charles Miller officiating. Interment will be made in the Mapleton I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Saturday.
