She was a native of Crawfordville and a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She was very proud of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all of her family.

A Memorial Gathering was held Friday, July 15, at Bevis Funeral Home, Harvey-Young Chapel in Crawfordville. A private family service will be held at a later date.
Survivors include two daughters, JoAnn Taylor (Billy) and Lynn Mayfield (Jimmy) of Crawfordville; two brothers, Clayton Whaley (Alene) and Willard Whaley (Becky) of Crawfordville; two sisters, Marie Jacobs (Cal) and Jackie Jetton (Robert) of Crawfordville; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Elder Emmett W. Whaley Sr. and Celia Revell Whaley; a sister, Linda K. Wilder; and a brother, Stephen Edwin Whaley.
