Maria Koudelka was born January 30, 1857 in Rakov, Pisek, South Bohemia #16 (rest of siblings born in #17) to John Koudelka (son of John Koudelka & Anna Kolar) and Anna Kolar (daughter of Matej Kolar. & Veronika Kabela) The family arrived in New York on May 1, 1869 aboard the Bremen which departed from Bremen Germany. Maria married Frank Sobolik on February 12, 1878 in Spillville, Winneshiek County, Iowa. They had the following children: Maria, Frank, Charles, Rose, John, Annie, Ruth, Albina, and Albert.
