Mr. Mathew "Mack" King, 85, died Monday morning (August 8, 2011) at Satilla Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.

He was a native of Brantley County, but he has lived most of his life in Waycross. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He retired from CSX Railroad after 39 years of service and was a member of First Advent Christian Church.

Along with 16 brothers, sisters and 3 half-brothers, he is a son of the late Zibe King and Mary Alice Roberson King.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Myra A. Lucas King of Waycross; one daughter, Pamela K. Bell (husband Jimmy) of Waycross; two grandchildren, Kim K. Frazier (wife Stacy) of Waycross, Richard Matthew "Rick" Hall (wife Casey) of Blackshear; three great grandchildren, Samantha K. Thomas, Jonathon Matthew Hall, and Kaylee Hall; six sisters, Lois Corbitt, Loretta Waldron, and Marie Petty all of Manor, Mary Clubb of Waycross, Willene Proctor of Atlanta, and Winifred Johnson of Yulee, FL; one brother, Edward King of Brantley County; three half-brothers, Zibe King, Jr., Barney King and Melvin King all of Brantley County; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday (August 11, 2011) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
