She was born April 3, 1900 in Lyman, a daughter of Erastus and Christiana "Annie" Rasmussen Sorensen. She married Wilford Andrew Torgerson May 8, 1917 in Loa, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple October 6, 1920. Mr. Torgerson died April 2, L 1984. She was active in the LDS Church, serving as Relief Society president and Primary President in the Thurber Ward. She also served in the Wayne Stake MIA and as the stake dance director for the MIA. She enjoyed doing temple work. She was a member of the DUP, Camp Thurber, where she served as captain. She enjoyed be- ing with her husband and her family. She will be missed.
Survived by her children, Maida and James Grace of Salt Lake City; Ilene and Norm Van-Dyke, Jean and Denzil Taylor, all of Loa; Loyia and Kenneth Rees of Bicknell; 18 grandchildren; 72 great-grandchildren; and 35 great-great- grandchildren; brother and sister, Fremon J. Sorensen of Lyman; and Tilda S. Taylor of Fremont.
She was preceded in death by one brother and eight sisters.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 21, 1993, at 1 p.m., in the Thurber LDS Ward Chapel in Bicknell. Friends may call at the ward chapel Tuesday, from 11 to 12:30 prior to the service. Burial will be in the Bicknell Cemetery under the direction of the Springer/Turner Funer- al Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
