Mrs. Mary Birdie LaFavers Succumbed in Somerset Hospital at 8:30 a.m., July 1. She was 49 years old. She was ill three years.

Mrs. LaFavers was the widow of J. C. LaFavers who died in 1958.

Immediate survivors include five step-children: Ocal LaFavers and Monna Womack both of California; Lonnie LaFavers, Webbs Cross Roads; Olan LaFavers, Liberty, and Olna Thomas, Font Hill.

There are also six brothers and four sisters - Clara Collins, Jamestown; Lucy Bennett and Dorothy Hadley, both of Russell Springs; Catherine Canada, Cincinnati, Claude and Cleveland Grider, both of Indianapolis; Joe Grider, Russell Springs, Charles Dewitt Grider, Decatur, Illinois; S/Sgt Phillip Grider of the U.S. Air Force, California, and Allen Grider of Louisville.

Mrs. LaFavers was a member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church. The funeral was held there Firday, July 3, at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. David Lyons conducting the services.

Arrangements were by Bernrd Funeral Home, and interment was in the church cemetery.
