Allen Buford Grider 95 of Louisville passed away Sunday December 2, 2018 at his residence. A native of Russell Co., KY he was the last survivor of 12 children. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII where he served on the USS Minneapolis during the Pearl Harbor attack, fought in 7 battles with the Pacific Fleet earning a Purple Heart, and was on board of the USS Navarro at the signing of the Peace Treaty in Tokyo Bay. He was also the owner of Advance Drywall Company and was a member of Douglas Hills Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Anna Faye Grider; sons, Michael (Teresa), Stuart (Nelson), and Barry S. (Leah) Grider; and grandsons, Hunter (Cassie), Tanner, and Eric Grider.
A Funeral Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday December 6, 2018 at Ratterman Funeral Home 12900 Shelbyville Rd East Louisville with burial to follow at Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
