Born in Illinois, June 4, 1869. When he was eleven he moved with his parents to Henry County, Missouri. Married Anna Crump of St. Clair County, Missouri in 1891. Five children, all living but Edward.
Moved to Glasco about 1910.
Was afflicted with asthma, which became worse during the winter. Moved with his family to Page, Kansas, hoping the dry climate would help his illness. Died March 11, 1919.
Survivors include his wife, a son twelve years of age, and two daughters, Mrs. Vogelgesang of Page and Mrs. Geo. Barnett of Lincoln, Nebr.; a son Claude Nelson of Glasco, and aged mother mrs. E.J. Nelson and a sister, Mrs. J.B. Gillian, both of Urich, Mo.
The funeral service was held at the Christian Church at Glasco.
