Jake was one of the town's best known and most highly respected citizens his death which occurred at 5:20 AM Tuesday morning at his home after less than a day's illness. Mr Siggins was at work up to noon on Monday on the borough's CWA sewer project on May Street. At that time he complained of being ill and went to his home. About 2:30 Tuesday morning he arose from his bed, complaining of severe pains in his chest and passed away at 5:20 after a physician had been called to attend him.
Mr. Siggins was the son of the late William Y(145) and Hannah Allender Siggins(173) and was born on the river flats at the mouth of Bowers Run about a mile above Tionesta., December 3, 1863.
