Mrs. Nellie Hier Frazer Dies Suddenly at Home
Gave Much of Time to Charity and Music

Prominent for 50 years in the social life of the city, Mrs. Nellie Hier Frazer, 66, died this morning at her home at 709 James Street.
Mrs. Frazer had not been well for the last six months, but her condition was not considered alarming. Last night she entertained guests at her home and seemed in good spirits and health. Her death this morning was sudden. Her husband, Frederick Frazer, president of Frazer & Jones Company, Solvay, arrived at the house half an hour after his wife's death.
Mrs. Frazer spent her entire life in this city. She was the daughter of former Mayor George P. Hier. Sixty-three years of her life were spent in the James Street home. She came there to live when she was 3.
Mrs. Frazer was one of the oldest alumnae of Keble School.
Mr. and Mrs. Frazer were married Sept. 26, 1876.
A member of Harmony Circle and of the Salon Musicale, Mrs. Frazer was an ardent devotee of music. She was also greatly interested in charity and was connected with the Memorial Hospital Guild and with the Syracuse Day Nursery, Inc. She was a member of St. Pauls Church.
In social circles, both here and at the Thousand Islands, Mrs. Frazer was always prominent. She was a member of the Onondaga Golf and Country Club here and a member of the Thousand Island Golf and Country Club and the Thousand Island Yacht Club. Mr. and Mrs. Frazer's summer home, "Melferd," on Cherry Island, has long been one of the show places of the St. Lawrence River.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Frazer is survived by one niece, Mrs. George D. Zahm. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
