Marriage - Merton M. Martin, of Randolph, Wisconsin, a discharged soldier from Camp Upton, and Fannie M. Wheeler, daughter of Joseph Wheeler, of Wheeler Court, were married on Saturday by the Rev. A.J. Pennell, of Sayville, at the Methodist parsonage. The witnesses were Miss Eunice Paterson, of Patchogue, and J.Q. Stanfield, a soldier at Upton.
In 1920, Fanny M. Martin, aged 18, married, a lace worker in the lace mill, was living on Grove Avenue, Brookhaven, NY, in the home of her parents, Joseph Wheeler, aged 46, and Margaret L. Wheeler, aged 46, with siblings, Harold L. Wheeler, aged 21, Leroy A. Wheeler, aged 14, and Gladys L. Wheeler, aged 9. Her father was shown to be a plumber.
In 1925, Fannie Martin, aged 24, was living in Brookhaven, NY, with her husband, Merton Marton, aged 25, and son, Delbert Martin, aged 4. Her husband was shown to be a plumber.
In 1930, Fannie Martin, aged 29, a polisher in a furniture factory, was living in Randolph, Dodge, Wisconsin, with her husband, Merton Martin, aged 29, a router in a furniture factory, and son, Delbert Martin, aged 9, in the home of her in-laws, Fred E. Martin, aged 68, a laborer in a cannery, and Edna Martin, aged 56, and sister-in-law, Genevieve Martin, aged 15.
Obituary - Mrs. Fannie Martin, wife of Merton Martin of Patchogue, died yesterday in the Kings County hospital, Brooklyn, after a two weeks' illness. Deceased was the former Miss Fannie Wheeler and is survived by her husband and eleven year old son, Delbert. Funeral services will be held at Ruland's chapel tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment is in the Waverly avenue cemetery.
