Born on Flag Day in the Almaden district of San Jose he was the 3rd of 4 children born to Rollin O Fillmore Sr. and Margurite Mary (Forbes) Fillmore. The family also lived in Sonoma County where they ranched and farmed near Mark West Springs. Rollin would ride his horse to school and deliver along the way fresh eggs and clean laundry. On his way home he would pick up laundry to return home to his Mother. They were poor but very proud people.
Rollin was always quick with wit and smile.

He enlisted in the Army September 4, 1942 to serve in WW11.
Rollin was injured in a Vehicle accident while driving an officer. He was driving a Jeep when a truck hit them causing serious injury to both he and the officer. He was given a full Medical Discharge after only 3 months and 22 days. He asked that his discharge be changed to Honorable at the insistance of a family who felt it would be seen in better light. Those injuries would plague him throughout his life but he rarely complained. He worked hard and provided very well for his family.

He married his wife, Barbara, in 1947 and although they divorced many years later, they remained best of friends until her death on Christmas Day in 1982 as they were all to gather at the home of their son for dinner. He out lived all of his siblings, one son, and most all of his friends. He is dearly missed by all who knew him.
