Fiina Armida Rissanen was born on October 1st, 1898, in Nurmes, Finland, to Olli Juhonpoika Rissanen (1863-1925) and Ida Mustonen (1869-1930). She was baptized in the church of Nurmes on the 9th of October 1898. Her godparents were workman Heikki Keranen and his wife Vappu Nykri. She was baptized by G.A. Rossander.

Armida had to repeat first grade, for unknown reasons. She had passed 5 classes but never took her diploma. She stopped school in November 1912. Armida was living in Helsinki in 1916, and in Viipuri, in 1917. She returned to Kotka, before moving to the United States. (Fiina never officially moved to the United States, as she did not go through the paperwork, so she was actually announced officially dead, in 1998. Because the officials did not know she went to the United States. It was the same thing with her first husband, Olavi Karlsson, who was officially announced dead in the early 2000s. Fiina's Obit " With grief, I declare that Fiina Heiniluoma nee Rissanen passed away on 20th of February 1949 in the hospital of New York City after suffering four weeks of a strong disease. She was aged 50 years, 4 months and 20 days. The Funeral was held at Rural Cemetery, Rutland Mass, on 25th of February. She is remembered by son, husband, and sister in New York, and by two brothers and two sisters in Finland. Also, she is remembered by numerous friends and relatives in New York and in Finland."
