ELMER THEODORE APSEGREN
(Obituary)
Elmer Theodore Aspegren was born at Swedona, Illinois, August 30, 1873, and
passed away at his home one mile west of Saronville on Saturday, December 17,
1932, 1:50 P. M. at the age of 59 years, 3 months and 17 days.
He came to this community as a boy and grew up to manhood among many who are
still present with us. On August 9, 1891 he became a member of the Saronville
Methodist Church under the pastorate of Rev. A. G. Engstrom. He has been a
continuous member of this Church save for a period of twelve years when he lived
in Evanston, Illinois, whence he transferred his membership to the Swedish
Emanuel M. E. Church of that city.
On April 29, 1903 he was married to Ida R. Peterson. To this union were born
three children, Leland, Evelyn and Lorraine.
Mr. Aspegren leaves to mourn his departure, his wife, Ida, and the 3 children;
four living brothers, Oliver R. of Evanston, Illinois, Edward of Harvard, Edwin
of McCook and Herman of Hastings; and four living sisters, Mrs. Celia M. Johnson
of Sutton, Mrs. Amanda Erickson of Jamestown, New York; Mrs. Ellen Rudeen of
Harvard, and Mrs. Edith Vinell of Ong, Nebr.; besides many other relatives and
close friends.
The funeral services were held at the Saronville Methodist Church with the Rev.
Albert C. Monkman officiating, Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 P. M. Interment was
made in the Methodist cemetery northeast of Saronville.
