Johnson--Obituary--
Charlotte Cecilia Aspegren Johnson was born in Swedona, Ill., January 5, 1872, and passed away at the home of her daughter, Ethel Nelson the evening of December 15, 1955 at the age of 83 years, 11 months and 10 days.
In 1876, she came with her parents, Adolph and Emma Aspegren, to settle in Clay county (sic) just west of Saronville. She became a member of the Saronville Methodist Church when she was 15 years old and maintained that membership until the present time. On November 4, 1896, she was joined in holy wedlock to Fred Johnson.. This union was blessed with three children, two sons and a daughter. The family lived on a farm northwest of Sutton. In 1942, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson retired to Saronville where they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1946. Mrs. Johnson made her home with her daughter after the death of her husband in 1949.
Grandma Johnson was a faithful wife, devoted and loving mother and most thoughtful grandmother. She leaves to mourn her departure, her daughter, Mrs. T. R. Nelson of Clay Center; two sons, Clarence Johnson of Sutton, and Ernest Johnson of Harvard; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; three sisters Amanda Erickson of Russell, Penn., Ella Rudeen of Omaha, and Edith Venell of Shickley; two brothers, Edward Aspegren of Clay Center, and Herman Aspegren of Los Angeles,Calif. She also leaves nephews, nieces and a host of other rerlatives (sic) and friends.
Services were held in the Saronville Methodist Church, with the Rev. L. O. Seger officiating. Burial was in the Methodist cemetery (sic) at Saronville.
