Arnold Mitchell "Mitch" Brown, 83, of 1200 Byers Avenue, Owensboro, KY, died Sunday, October 30, 2005 at his home. He was born June 8, 1922 in Rend City, Illinois. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, a World War II veteran and retired from General Electric Company. His hobby was playing music with friends and for various nursing homes, at church and other organizations. He also enjoyed spending time at his cabin at Rough River. He was preceded in death by his parents, Burton and Bessie Brown and siblings, Imogene Ijames, Edna "Toady" Hale, Hubert and Hillary Brown.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Geneva Pirtle Brown; a son, Ronal E. Brown and his wife, Caroline, of Cromwell; a daughter, Linda B. Ford and her husband, James, of Owensboro; four grandchildren, Jason Ford and his wife, Lisa, of Lexington, Jill Withrow and her husband, Tim, of Bowling Green, Kimberley Smiley and her husband, Danny, of McHenry and Robert Brown and his wife, Patricia, of Cromwell; four great grandchildren, Laura Smiley, Adrien Withrow and Keelin and Conner Ford and two more on the way; two nephews and four nieces.

Services are at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2005, at James H. Davis Funeral Home Chapel in Owensboro. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens in Owensboro. Visitation is from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and after 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday at James H. Davis Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Macedonia Baptist Church General Fund.
