Emerson Fairfax Harmon, 84, of Green Creek, Polk Couty, North Carolina, passed away at 10:45, Monday, January 7th, 2002, at Magnolia Manor, Inman, South Carolina, after an extended illness.

Born in Union, South Carolina, on Thursday, February 22, 1917, he was the son of the late Reuben Harmon (1891-1950) and Virgie (Horne) Harmon (1898-1985), and husband of Ruth (Walker) Harmon.

He was retired owner and operator of Harmon's Dairy, and was a member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Linda Phillips, Mary Bridgeman; two sons, Douglas Harmon, Alan Harmon; two sisters, Ruth Seay, Velma Brady; one brother, B.W. "Tex" Harmon; four grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, William Harmon and two brothers, B.G. "Jim" Harmon and Ernest D. "Head" Harmon.

Funeral services were held at Seawright Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, January 9, 2002, with Rev. Bill Harris officiating.

Interment was at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
