Claude Charles Barber, Cheyenne, died Monday, April 29, 1968 in the Roger Mills Memorial Hospital, Cheyenne following a short illness. Funeral services were held Wednesday May 1, 1968 at 2 o'clock, in the Crawford auditorium with Rev. Nathan Covington officiating.
Born June 24, 1900, in Sena, Oklahoma, Mr. Barber came to the Cheyenne area with his parents in 1900 from the Cherokee Nation in eastern Oklahoma. On November 22, 1918 he married Edythe Rowe, in Cheyenne. He lived in the Roll community most of his life and was a member of the Nazarene church three years there.
Survivors are his wife, Edythe, of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Wanda Hardin, Canadian, Texas, Mrs. Opal Boyd, of Arnett; one son, Woodrowe of Crawford; one brother Frank Barber, and two sisters, Maude Hicks and Vauda Brown, all of Crawford.
Pallbearers were Claude Hubbard, Joe Merritt, Rex Dickason, Henry Walker, Roy Sloan, and Ralph Hanawalt.
Interment was in the Pie Flat Cemetery, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Scroggins and Son Funeral Home, Cheyenne.
