ABSTRACT: Died Nov. 25, 1920. At her home, 415 Elm Ave. Aged 35. Her family came to Long Beach two years ago from Walla Walla, Wash., where she was a member of P.E.O., and she was a member of the Long Beach chapter of Eastern Star. Survived by her husband, J.D. Sparrow; her father in Boulder, Colo.; sisters Mrs. Etta Stronberg of Niwoto, Colo., and Mrs. Lillian H. Swenerton of Vancouver.

Delmer Sanburg Jr. adds: Ellen Sanburg Sparrow was born in Leadville, CO, in 1882. She grew up in Colorado, was a teacher in Windsor, CO, then moved to Washington. She was there for some time, married Jay Sparrow and in 1918 moved to Long Beach, CA. Her sister Lillian Sanburg Swenerton moved in with Ellen and Jay about 1919 after Dr Swenerton, Lillian's husband died from the 1918 flu. Ellen died in 1920 and Jay moved to South America for 10 years. Lillian married Guy Cheney and lived many years in Long Beach. They are buried in Westminster, CA.
