Locha Rankin "Lochie" Sutphen married Dr. Edward A. Swafford on 1 July 1915 in Stephens County, Texas.

Mrs. Lochie Sutphen Swafford and her husband had been living in Rockdale, Texas since their marriage in 1915, until the fall of 1918 when they moved to Nashville, Tennesee so Dr. Swafford might take a post-graduate course in Dentistry. Mrs. Swafford was one of the most accomplished young ladies of our county, having been a student of C.I.A. at Denton and North Texas State Normal, at which institution she graduated in 1919. She united with the Methodist Chruch at the age of 11 and has lived a consistent life.

Survived by her husband; her baby; her mother; two sisters; three brothers.

There is a discrepancy between the tombstone which shows died 5 January 1919. Find-a-grave contributor - BeNotForgot - 46974545 suggests the Tennessee death certificate and obituary show a death date of 21 January 1919.
