Came to America with his parents and seven brothers and three sisters in 1834 settling near Sugar Creek. After his marriage in 1855 they removed to Beaver Prairie, and later on back again to Shoal Creek Prairie where he occupied the Weidner place. About 34 years ago he made his home in Highland and lived there up to the time of his death.
