Lota Virginia "Lottie" McKee was the second daughter of David Charles and Emeline Coyt Finch McKee. She was an older sister to my grandfather Daniel James McKee. Lota went to the state of Washington to visit with her Uncle William McKee's family and remained there and married John Ephraim Turner, son of Robert Alexander and Minerva Catherine Brownfield Turner. Lota had two children, a boy first who was named Donald but he died at five days old, she then had a daughter named Dorothy Kate on Aug. 08, 1909 in Ellensburg, Kittitas Co., WA. Dorothy Kate died July 07, 1994, this entire family of four are all buried in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Ellensburg, Kittitas Co., WA.
I flew to Spokane a few years ago and stayed with Earline McKee, widow of a grandson of William McKee. She drove me to Ellensburg and I was privledged to meet alot of the McKee descendants, even viewed the house which William McKee built before Washington statehood, it looked the same except for the trees and grass which had grown up through the years, the picture I have of the house was barren of trees and grass. I found this branch of McKee's to be very nice and friendly, I enjoyed my trip very much.
