PENN YAN—Funeral services for Emery Potter, 60, Penn Yan RD 4, will be held at 2 pm Monday at the Thayer Funeral Chapel. The Rev Sheldon Stephenson, pastor, of the Penn Yan Methodist Church, and the Rev H W Thomas, Binghamton, will officiate. Interment will be in NeW Millford Cemetery, near Binghamton.
Mr Potter died Thursday in Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Friends may call at the funeral Chapel from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Saturday and Sunday.
Mr Potter was born in the town of Jerusalem, Yates County, son of Edgar and Sarah Prosser Potter. He attended local schools and had lived in Yates County all his life. He served overseas in World War I and was a member of the Johnson-Costello Post, American Legion, Penn Yan. Mr Potter was an operating engineer in contracting work. Survivors include his widow, Frances VanCott Potter; and a brother, Edgar, of Penn Yan.
