Geraldine "Gerry" M. Groves, 79, passed away July 29, 2011 at her home in Kokomo. She was born in Howard County on September 8, 1931, to the late Glenn J. and Grace B. (Owyer) Scott. She graduated from Anderson High School in 1950 and started her working career, which involved employment at Montgomery Wards, Indiana Bell, General Motors Electronics, and co-owning and operating a furniture store with her husband. Gerry was a member of the U.A.W. and St. Joan of Arc Church. She enjoyed reading, sewing, crossword puzzles and watching programs on television such as; Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, golf, football and basketball.
Gerry is survived by her son, Dan (Kristi) Groves of Russiaville; a daughter-in-law, Rose Groves; her grandchildren, Ashley Gibson, Katie Groves, Lance Groves, Kaylen Groves and Kimmy Groves; and her great grandchildren, Aubrey Gibson, Anndria Gibson, Karley Groves and Madalyn Cheeseman. Other survivors include some close nieces, Colleen Small and Susan Ritchie; a great niece, Jacquie; along with several other nieces and nephews.
Gerry is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, five sisters and a son, Don Groves.
