Funeral services were conducted Sunday noon at the Brasher Falls Methodist Church for Miss Agnes Baker, 81, who died about 5 o'clock, Friday afternoon, in her home, following an illness of several weeks. Her sister-in-law, Mrs. Ada Baker has tenderly cared for her during this illness.
Born in Brasher Township, August 22, 1866, she was one of five children of the late Dr. Alexander and Eliza March Baker, natives of Canada. A sister died in infancy, Miss Anna, another sister, died in 1915 and a brother, Dr. Frank Baker passed away in Gouverneur in 1941. She was always a loyal member of the Brasher Falls Methodist Church and equally loyal to her many friends in that section. When physically able, she walked miles to perform a kindly deed or give a word of encouragement to some handicapped or shut-in person.
