Mrs. Eliza Baker, 93, died at her home in Brasher Falls on November 17, 1939. Mrs. Baker was born in Elgin, Ont., Canada on June 17, 1846, one of ten children born to John and Nancy Lantry March. In 1863, she was married to Dr. Alexander Baker, veterinary surgeon, who died in 1928. Four of their five children are still living: Miss Agnes who lived in the home and made her mother's later years so happy; Dr. George Baker, veterinarian, Dr. Frank Baker, country veterinarian, of Gouverneur; and Mrs. Mary Mason of Norwood; eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Internment was in the family plot in Fairview cemetery.
