Mrs. Elise (Nunna Mama) Cobb Hicks, age 87, of Cedartown, Ga., passed away on Monday, August 1, 2011.
Mrs. Hicks was born on February 20, 1924 in Cedartown, Ga., to her parents, the late Claude Cobb and the late Gussie Mae Harrison Cobb. She had been a member of the Calvary Assembly of God for over fifty years. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by four brothers, Luther Cobb, John Cobb, Pete Cobb and Fred Cobb, two sisters, Mary Puckett and Lola Squires and a granddaughter, Anita Wheeler Dempsey.
Elise Hicks is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Lewis Hicks, together they would have been married 65 years on October 1, 2011. She is also survived by her sons and daughters in law, Olin & Christi Hicks and Anthony & Becky Hicks, her daughter, Myrtle Hicks Summerville, her brother and sister in law, Phil & Susan Cobb, her sisters and brothers in law, Ruby & Wayne Swafford and Betty & James Spikes, her brother in law, Bobby Puckett and her sister in law, Pat Cobb. Nunna Mama (as she was lovingly called) is also survived by her grandchildren, Jeff Wheeler, Jill Shooks, Candyce Summerville, Bridgette Tillery, Brandon Hicks, Chris Hicks and nine great grandchildren. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside and Interment services for Elise (Nunna Mama) Cobb Hicks will be conducted on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. from the Northview Cemetery with Dr. Jerry Buttram and Rev. Danny Tucker officiating. Honorary Pallbearers are: Ted Broadaway, Chip Summerville, Bobby Puckett and Kenny Spikes.
