James P. Wells
Death Occurs Suddently While Visting Son in California
Word has been received by Mrs. H. C. Lovell of the sudden death of James P. Well, of Binghamton, on Saturday night at home of his son, Edwin T. Wells, in Pasadena.
It has been the custom of Mr. and Mrs. Wells, for the past four years, to spend their winters in Pasadena. This year they left Binghamton the first week in January, arriving there at the time of the deep snow storm which delayed their trains. Mr. Wells had been subject for the past year to slight attacks of heart trouble and this was the cause of his death.
He is survived by his wife, Julia Thurston Wells; one son Edwin T. Wells of Pasadena; a daughter, Mrs. Alma Wells Jenkins of Binghamton and four grandchildren, Jack and James Wells of Pasadena and Bobbie and Dorothy Jenkins of Binghamton.
A short prayer service was held at the home of the son in Pasadena on Monday and on Tuesday, Mrs. Wells and her son left with the remains for Binghamton. It is expected that they will arrive in Binghamton either Friday evening or Saturday morning. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon in the West Presbyterian Church in that city which he was a devoted member. Burial will be made in Whitney Point.
Mrs. Lovell and Dr. and Mrs. Keese of Syracuse went to Binghamton Sunday to call on Mrs. Lovell's niece Mrs. Paul Jenkins.
