MY GREAT-GREAT GRANDFATHER, son of David McKinley Dunkle and Susanna Shertzer.

Date of death was Dec. 21, 1904, as per Bedford County Register of Deaths and the Bedford Gazette obit of Dec. 30, 1904. The marker has 1905 in error.

Jacob Dunkle, a venerable citizen of Snake Spring township, died on Decemer 21. He was aged 87 years, seven months and 11 days. He is survived by ten children. Mr. Dunkle was a warm-hearted, jovial man and had a host of friends.

Morrisons Cove Herald- Dec.30,1904. About three weeks ago Jacob Dunkle, of Snake Spring Valley was cutting briars on his farm. One of the thorns struck him on his left hand causing a slight wound. A few days later his hand began to pain and became swollen. Blood poisoning set in and Wednesday of last week Mr Dunkle died, aged about 87 years.
