The 1880 Boca, Nevada County, California U.S. Federal Census shows Joseph and Falinda F. Doan with a 17 year old son named Willis and a 15 year old daughter named Mary J. Joseph is shown working as a laborer and Willis as a Mill laborer. At least one of the extended Doan family is also shown living in the area.
