SAMUEL MOUNTS, RESIDENT HERE 10 YEARS, DIES
Samuel Mounts, 53 years old, for ten years a resident of this city died at his home 1316 Maude street, at 8:45 o'clock Sunday. Death was believed to have been from cancer. He had been ill for six weeks. The deceased came to Poplar Bluff from the sate of Indiana ten years ago, and for some years had been an employee of Bimel-Ashcroft Manufacturing Company. He was well known, highly respected, and a valuable employee of the spoke mill. Surviving him is his widow, two sons, Claude, 27, and Everett, 8, and four daughters, Mrs. Pearl Wright, Mrs. Bonnie Burnham and Miss alice Mounts of Poplar Bluff and Mrs. Vernie Gibson of Chaonia, Missouri. According to Sullivan Democrat, Sullivan Indiana, Sam sold the last of his land and farm in 1911 so 15 years is probably more correct as he probably started to move the previous year.
