Oliver P. Mounts, a well known farmer of Jefferson township, died at his home ten miles north-east of Carlisle Saturday, after an illness of four days duration. Congestion of the brain was the cause of his death. The deceased was the son of Samuel and Lavina Knapp Mounts and was born in Sullivan county, 1 June 1879, being 41 years 7 months and 14 days old age at the time of his death. About twenty years ago (1900) he was married to Stella Begeman who with eight children survive the husband and father. He is also survived by two brothers Samuel, of Missouri and Thos., of Jefferson township and several sisters. Funeral services were held at Bethany Monday afternoon at one o'clock and interment made in the Bethany cemetery. The services were in charge of Rev. Squires of Linton. Oliver died of a cerebral hemorrhage caused by a chain hitting him in the head from a coal car according to aunt Forrest Mounts who helped look after him til he died.
