Calvin L. Bellmann, 71, of Belleville, formerly of Rockwood, died Monday, Nov. 29, 1993, in Memorial Hospital in Belleville.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Wilson Funeral Home in Ava, with the Rev. Gregory Todd officiating. Burial will be in Christ Lutheran Cemetery in Gorham. Visitation will be after 4:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Bellmann had been a carpenter. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Jacob, the Moose and Eagles, both in Pinckneyville, and Carpenters Local 433 in Belleville. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

He was born Feb. 2, 1922, in Jacob to Emmanuel and Martha (Bain) Bellmann. He married Shirley Lang on April 20, 1947, in Belleville. She died December 30, 1981.

Survivors include one son, Bradley Bellmann of Belleville; three daughters, Sandra Bellmann of St. Louis, Deborah Hollis of Caseyville and Wendy Porter of Murphysboro; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and three sisters, Stella Moeckel of Murphysboro, Cordelia Shields of Jacob and Leona Geaschel of Red Bud. His parents and one brother, Elmer, also preceded him in death.
