Lula was a daughter of David and Malissa (Atchison) Bailey. After her father was killed in 1872 in Owingsville, she and a couple of other siblings were placed in the Masons Widows and Orphans home in Jefferson Co., Kentucky as their mother could not care for all of the children. It looks like her mother, Malissa kept in contact with the children though as several went to Missouri and lived near or with her at some time. Lula and husband Joseph were in the same household in a 1910 census with Malissa Anderson.
Lula and Joseph had a son, Joseph but he was not showing up in the 1910 census and likely died before then.
