LUCILLE FOLKS
A mass of Christian burial for Lucille Folks was celebrated at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 14, 1998 at the SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, 633 Bridger Ave., Rock Springs. The Rev. John Savio officiated.
Mrs. Folks, 72, 1209 Lincoln Ave., Rock Springs, died at 6:13 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, 1998 at her home.
A longtime resident of Rock Springs and former resident of Williams, Ariz., Mrs. Folk died following a lengthy illness.
She was born on Jan. 21, 1926 in Cimmaron, N.M., the daughter of the late John L. and Cornelia D. Gleason Rogers. Mrs. Folks attended schools in Parks, Ariz. and graduated from Williams High School in Williams, Ariz., with the class of 1943.
She married Leonard Paul Folks in Tucumcari, N.M., on Oct. 24, 1943 and he preceded her in death on Oct. 18, 1996.
Mrs. Folks had been employed as a bookkeeper and teller at the First Security Bank and also was employed at the Lamplighter Motel, the Hillside Motel and the A&W Drive-In.
She was a member of the SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church. Mrs. Folks pursuits included camping, fishing, gardening and crocheting.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Terrie and Greg Layos and Trish and Pete Musich, all of Rock Springs; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Mary Ann Folks of San Antonio, Texas; three sisters, Myrna Faye Walker of Chico, Calif., Arthaleen Samples of Flagstaff, Ariz., and May Terry and husband Alton of Anderson, Calif.; one sister-in-law, Lillian Folks of Santa Fe, N.M.; five grandchildren, Brandon Musich of Westminster, Calif., Brian Musich, Bradley Music, Kristen Layos and Michael Layos, all of Rock Springs; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one son, Jim Folks who died in September of 1971.
The body was cremated.
