MARJORIE STEDDOM, Winterset

Marjorie Launa Steddom, 97, died Aug. 16, 2000, from complications of a stroke at Winterset Care Center South.

Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 18, at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset with Pastor Sandy Smith officiating. Burial was at Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa.

Marjorie Steddom was born July 28, 1903, in Mahaska County to David W. and Launa C. (Cruzen) Jamison. She married Hubert F. Steddom on Sept. 27, 1922 in Oskaloosa. A homemaker, Marjorie had lived the past 63 years in Winterset, having previously resided in Lovilia. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Winterset Art Center and First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers, three sisters and one grandson.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Rieker of Greeley, Colo., and Margaret Mease of Winterset; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
