Visitation is scheduled from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Perry Funeral Home, Mandan, and continues one hour prior to services at Bismarck Municipal Country Club.
Wayne was born Jan. 20, 1920, in Tingley, Iowa to Dick and Kate (Romkee) Weeda. He was raised and educated in Tingley, where he graduated from high school in 1937. Following high school, he worked with his father on the home farm for a short time, and then at various jobs in Waterloo, Iowa. On May 8, 1948 he married Irene V. Olson in Minneapolis. They moved to North Dakota in fall 1948, when he was offered a job building a home for Irene's brother in Regent. In 1950, they moved to Mandan, where he established his own home construction company. Later, he and his son, Dwayne, began a cabinet and appliance business.
Wayne and Irene both accepted Christ into their lives and tried to follow the teachings of Christ as recorded in the New Testament.
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Lyle Heinsen, West Fargo; three sons and three daughters-in-law, Dwayne and Janice Weeda and John and Margery Weeda, all of Mandan, and Bruce and Rhonda Weeda, Wahpeton; eight grandchildren, Bradley Weeda, Nancy Weeda, Stephanie Weeda, Kimberly Gauderman, Heidi Schilling, Jordan Weeda, Amy Benjamin and Heather Heinsen; one brother and sister-in-law, Allen and Marjorie Weeda, Osceola, Iowa; many cousins; and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene; his parents; four brothers, Ira, William, Irven and Elmer Weeda; and two sisters, Emma Borrusch and Margaret McKay.
