Joseph Stegmiller Jr., 69, 200 Division St. N.W., Mandan, died March 10, 1999, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Jacob Schumacher officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. today at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, where a Knights of Columbus rosary will begin at 7 tonight, followed by a parish vigil at 7:30. Visitation will continue Saturday until service time at the funeral home.
Joseph was born April 6, 1929, in Fallon, the son of Joseph Sr. and Edith (Friesz) Stegmiller. He was raised and educated in the Fallon and Flasher areas. On Oct. 14, 1953, he married Margaret Gangl in St. Anthony. They both farmed in the Flasher area until 1959, and later moved to Mandan where he worked as a plumber for 40 years, most recently with Parkway Plumbing.
He was a member of Knights of Columbus and Mandan Eagles.
He is survived by his wife, Marge; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Duane and Margo, Bismarck, and Brian, Rochester, Minn.; one daughter, Kathleen Stegmiller-Richter, Mandan; four brothers, Manuel, Eugene and Henry, all of Mandan, and Leo, Flasher; and two grandchildren, Andrew Richter, Flasher, and Lyle Richter, Mandan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant brother, Lib; and two sisters, Frances Hatzenbuhler and Pauline Bohl. (Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan)
