Paul "Dusty" Stahr died at 11:30 a.m. July 13 at Obion County Hospital after suffering a severe heart attack.
Son of Stephen and Emma Stahr, he was born Feb. 19, 1900 in Hickman where he spent most of his life. He was educated in the Hickman schools and graduated from Jasper, Ind. College.
For the past 35 years, farming and real estate were the principal occupations. Since 1949, his son, Joe, had been associated with him in these business ventures.
Services
Funeral services were held at Sacred Heart Catholic church at 10 a.m. July 15 with Rev Edward Tarrent and the Rev. William Burch, nephew of Mr. Stahr, of Rineyville, Ky. officiating. Burial under the direction of Barrett's Funeral Home, was in City Cemetery with David Stahr, Ardel Fields, Stephen Stahr, Daniel Lattus, Earl Carrico and Joseph Elliott serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were B. P. Black, Ben White, Jim Mayes, Cecil Roper, E. J. Stahr, C. N. Holland, Chris Ledwidge and Harold Cash.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nettie Mae Carrico Stahr, one son, Joe, of Hickman; three daughters, Mrs. Earla Mae Broadfoot of Claredon Hills, Ill., Miss Mary Ann Stahr of Evansville, Ind., and Miss Helen Stahr of Hickman; three brothers, Charles A. and Jack of Hickman and Roland of Fancy Farm; and two grandchildren.
