Kenneth accepted the call to the ministry at the age of 24. He pastored in Stoneham, CO with his first wife Lola. They moved to Odgen Utah where they built amd pastored the Canyon Road Assembly of God church.
After Lola died in 1962, he later married Bertha Mae and they pastored until they retired in 1979. They moved to Provo and were part of the Rock Canyon Assembly of God.
The Reverend was a master craftsman and avid hunter. He built churches, worked on homes, and helped many throughout the years.
Rev. Brethouwer is survived by his wife, Bertha Mae, five daughters: Charlotte Crout of Greenville, S.C.; Carol Needham of Park City, UT; Mary Mench of Kaneohe, HI; Marla Wages of Springfield, OR; and Kerry Conrad of Ogden, UT; 21 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
